Salt & Sand Storage Shed
About Project
This project was one of two similar structures built for the City of Hamilton to accommodate the growing region. The design was a significant departure from the traditional dome-style salt shed. The challenge in this project was to complete a wide-span wooden structure in a short period of time. To facilitate the tight schedule, the roof was built sectionally on the ground while the foundations and walls were constructed. The roof sections were then hoisted over the course of two days and assembled in place to receive the finished metal cladding.
